Not Great for Indoor Stairs
We ordered these for inside stairs, to help the dog with wooden steps. They were very stiff, and did not lay flat. Every time we stepped on a tread, it would make a contact noise. We returned them.

Flimsy & slippery; no redeeming qualities
Now that my order has arrived, I’m completely baffled by how this product has ANY good reviews. Very thin and flimsy and would likely cause far more accidents on the stairs than the few they were bought to prevent. They are incredibly slippery and do not stay in place whatsoever. Unless you’re planning on nailing these into your stairs I’d consider another option. Will be returning!

Slip around a ton on the stairs
I have had these for a few years. Came on the site to see if anyone had hacks to keep the treads in place. I have them indoors on stained pine staircase and they are constantly moving around and falling off when my dog and cat go up and down the stairs. I dont want to have to use double sided tape or staples because it will mess up the finish. Dirt also gets under the treads and I have to lift them up to vacuum so I think it would also make cleaning difficult. I thought the rubber backing would be enough but it really hasn’t and seems to be getting worse over time. So sad because they are otherwise very nice.

Excellent Solution for the Lake Steps
These treads are very well made. We used them for treads on wood stairs into our lake. The steps in the water get slippery and this is the solution. We used a screw and a washer in each corner and they are fabulous for what we needed!
