My husband always wear jeans no matter where he goes. Finally, I got him these pants with the option to wear as shorts, he loves it. We are leaving for Asia and it’s perfect for the backpacking.

Made it to Everest Base Camp
I loved these pants! They are durable, lightweight and versatile. Basically, 2 pants in one. They wore very well on my recent trek to Everest Base Camp, and kept me cool while I spent a week in Thailand. Highly recommend.

Cresta Plus and Minus
My second purchase of the Cresta Pants, so I like them. The new ones have a nice improvement; the pulls for the zip pockets have a little plastic pull attached to the metal zipper pull. The pull extension prevents the entire pull from getting lost in the edges of the pocket, especially in the back. The lower seams on the back pockets on my older Cresta pants failed (albeit after years of use!), something that has never happened on any pants I have ever owned. Those Cresta pants -- and I assume these new ones -- were otherwise durable, light, and quick drying. Finally, Bean could improve Cresta pants significantly by making the front pockets deeper. Objects placed in the front pockets fall out easily and, on the trail, something lost stays lost. The zip pockets (a big reason I bought Cresta originally) are always secure and in constant use. But sometimes a more secure front pocket would be more convenient.

Great travel pants
A baggy fit kept these from being 5 stars.5 stars for material and the 2 zippered thigh pockets. Well made.

Choked on the cost but turned out perfect
These seemed long when I first got them, but they were perfect for a fall trip to Utah where they served as both shorts and long pants. They are lightweight, tough, "give" just a little, have many pockets, good zippers.

Cresta hiking pants NOT FOR HIKING
I bought these pants for hiking as the as they are marketed as hiking pants . The first time I wore them was to go hiking and I slipped on the rocks sliding down on my butt , the pants were destroyed. A hole was easily ripped in the middle of the buttocks area and the pocket was destroyed . Normal hiking shorts should be rugged enough to withstand this type of event. As I have done this before with other pants / shorts with no damage to the garment. A hiking garment should be rugged enough to handle a slide on the rocks . Thank you LL bean for lowering your standards and craftsmanship , false advertising and no longer standing by your products. I wouldn’t either if I lowered my craftsmanship . Shame on you LL Bean, you use to be an outstanding American company with excellent craftsmanship and warranty policies, your products were well made. I guess it makes sense to no longer back your products if you’re knowingly making inferior products and selling them for much higher profit margin …. Or does it ? Is it really worth loosing customers over, you can only go so long riding the coattails of a brand name that use to be superb and people didn’t mind paying a premium for . I’d rather buy something at a quarter of the price that is rugged and from a company that has a good warranty policy from Indonesia , o wait these $89 dollar pants are made in Indonesia … so much for made in the USA.
Thank you again for the disappointment , but thank you for the lesson . It saddens me to say that I will never buy LL Bean again ! Why bother when I can buy the same Indonesian junk for a much cheaper price anywhere else.
A once great American made company ruined by greed . Definitely not the LL bean you use to be .

Cresta rocks
Have been using Cresta pants for some time for hiking and kayaking. They give (stretch) just right and dry quickly. They hold up surprisingly well for my occasional caving, very abrasive environment.

Pilling after first wash.
The weight of the fabric is perfect and the sizing was spot on. the color was as marked and the breathability great. i have the zip off legs and that is a great feature.
I wear these when i work and i wear a phone holster wich rubbed on the pants a couble of times. after my first wash i noticed pilling on the fabric. I have some timberline hiking pants from Wall mart for $26 that do not pill after my first wash or from my phone holster rubbing.
Disapointed especially for the price.

Love these pants for flyfishing and wet wading
Love these. Bought two pair for a fly fishing trip to Montana. They work great and I even wore them fit wet wading the Yellowstone River. Bushwhacking through the woods in Yellowstone with the full leg on and wading in the river. Fit was wonderful and love that they come in 29” leg.

Zipper code: red on right, blue on left
Easy to wipe clean, put on and take off. Fabric has some give to it. All important when one practically lives in a wheelchair. Physical therapists all like zip off/on above knees to make therapies more productive. Color-coded red zipper for right leg, blue zipper left leg make for an easy pairing. Removeable zipper legs fit into cargo pockets.

Great. Slimmer sizes are unnecessary.
Still great pants. When I first started using these pants daily there was one size. Now there are two slim sizes that are frankly feminine and make ordering confusing. The new water resistant feature only detracts from breathability.
