Perfect seasonal windbreaker
I liked this jacket so much, I bought this one as a Christmas gift for my best friend. The fit is perfect. The fabric is light and so comfortable for eastern North Carolina. I can wear a light sweater or sweatshirt under it if it is cooler.

Great jacket
This jacket is lightweight and wind resistant. I normally wear XL from LL bean and this XL fits well - not too tight. I am 5’4 and this jacket hits at low to mid hip. The sleeves are a little long but petite would probably be too short.

Don't bash the hood!
I almost always wear a pony tail and am sorely disappointed by most other hoods. While others reviewers take exception to the depth of this hood, I find it to be so helpful for folks with a lot of hair, or a big head. I love the color and style. I only wish the fabric was a little thicker - when people say this is a spring or fall jacket, I think they mean spring or fall in Florida or Georgia, not New York or Vermont.

Great jacket for spring and fall!
This is a great jacket! I’ve worn it several times in cool weather and it’s just enough to keep me warm. I usually walk very early in the morning where the weather is in the low 50’s and it is perfect for that!

Nice Layering Jacket
This is a great lightweight jacket for layering. It’s thin but is far better than a windbreaker. It has no lining or insulation, so if you are looking for a coat - this isn’t it. But I really love the construction, size of the pockets and it fits true to size.

Nice jacket with two big problems
Excellent material, good length and fit—EXCEPT, as so many others have said, the hood is strangely large and droopy—a definite fail and I can’t see it working for anyone. But the bigger problem for me is the length of the sleeves—way too long even though I bought a petite version. This could easily have been resolved by putting some Velcro or snaps on the sleeves. Instead I’m rolling them up 2 or 3 times which looks a bit shabby. (Also I’m not a fan of the advertising on the front, but my stitch ripper has taken care of that.)

Non water resistant enough
I bought this for light rain and wind protection in the summer. The fabric feels nice against your skin and looks cute on. However, while walking from the grocery store to my car in moderate rain, the rain seeped through the fabric. I regret buying it. I really needed more rain protection.

Runs a bit large. Hood needs a adjustment tab.
I bought this jacket due to the Supplex nylon fabric, which I love the feel of. However, the medium is a bit large, but the small was closer fitting than I would like. It needs a adjustment tab on the voluminous hood (comes over my eyes) and a two-way zipper, along with a drawcord at the waist (like an anorak). It is not good in steady rain; you will feel damp (it really only is a heavier windbreaker). It might be good in a light mist. I recommend it to friends not as particular as myself, lol. I am on the fence whether I will keep it.

A staple
This is a nice jacket. I had the same thing, purchased years ago, as a pullover. I got tired of that because it was difficult to pull over a sweater; the zip feature is much handier. The jacket is lightweight, but a very good wind breaker. I had to wait over a month for it to come in and it was well worth it. I hope this one last years.....just as the pullover did, which I donated and absolutely confident someone is enjoying.

Disappointing
As others have said, the hood on this jacket it utterly useless unless, as someone suggested, you are prepared to wear a baseball cap under it. I am not. I did not mind the lack of zippers on the pockets, because they were roomy enough for hands. But if you needed to put your hands in the pockets, you might also want a working hood. Size wise, it was not a great fit. I typically wear a petite XS in LLBean jackets. I ordered the petite S and found it to be snug around the hips (I wear size 4 in LLBean jeans) and bulky elsewhere. If you are fuller in the chest and belly, this may be a better fit for you.

Nice jacket, but hood too large.
I like this jacket, but I think the hood is too big. If I put it on, it goes over my eyes and I can’t see. The only way around this is to wear a baseball cap under it. Otherwise, the material is nice and the fit is good.

One of L.L. Bean's best products
I have this jacket in both navy and black because I love it so much. I've worn them for approximately five years and they are starting to wear out from constant use. At first I thought it was too wide at the waist, but I now think it is pefect for activities like bike riding, where I'm sitting. It keeps me protected against the wind but isn't too heavy. I have two suggestions: first, make the oversized hood much smaller or at least adjustable. The hood goes down to my eyebrows. Second, please consider upgrading to a double zipper on the jacket. I know many people love to hate the double zipper, but I think they're fantastic.

Perfect travel jacket.
Purchased for a river cruise through many climates. We had a 77 degree day and a snow day! The jacket was fabulous for comfort, looking good, layerability, hood in case of a little rain and breathability, I am so happy to have it for home now.
