When "water resistant" just won't do!
I haven't been in a downpour yet BUT I'm extremely confident that this is the raincoat I've been looking for. The fabric isn't thick stiff, rather it's soft and supple.

A Great Light Rain Jacket
First of all, this is more of a highly water resistant windbreaker, than a true piece of waterproof gear. That being said, the jacket works very well and has a good degree of breathability. Overall it can’t be beat for the price. One of the biggest drawbacks is actually the zippers. Although they work, they seem flimsy and hard to align to get started. The zippers are what keep it from being a five star. I anticipate they will be the first thing to fail on this jacket down to the road. The fit of the jacket is good. It has good mobility, not too tight, not too loose, sleeves could be a touch longer, but that is OK. I am 6 feet tall 165 pounds and I purchased a large regular.

Perfect fitted rain jacket
This jacket is light and fits well. One day after receiving this rain jacket, it poured. Excellent opportunity to test it and it passed. Extremely happy!

Perfect for Inclement Weather
Bought this jacket for my husband for our trip to Europe. Fit perfectly (XL) and looks great. Worked well for both overcast and drizzly days.

Tight fit for the size.
Tight fit around shoulders and chest. This was a regular large size, regular large LL Bean shirts have always fit me well.

Slim fit
I bought this to replace a XXL jacket from another brand that I've had for years. That old XXL jacket still fits, but is getting a little snug.
The XXXLT LL Bean jacket, on the other hand is too small and will have to be returned. It fits so tightly around the shoulders that I can barely move, the sleeves barely fit over my arms, and it won't zip over my fat belly.
Really disappointed.

Travel Jacket Excels in Rain Test
I purchased and men's and a woman's Trail Model Rain Jacket for a trip to Europe. The jacket was easy to pack, lightweight, and had plenty of pockets. We wore them on a very windy and rainy day in Bayona, Spain. It was so rainy that our pants and shoes were soaking wet. The jacket kept everything under it dry. This was a good purchase for us. I especially like the sapphire blue color which was easy to spot in a crowd.

Trail Model Rain Jacket
I bought it as a replacement to another "highly" rated rain jacket that wasn't. It is vastly superior to the previous "rain proof" jacket.
The jacket works like a charm.
I also bought a size larger than I usually take so I can fit a fleece sweat jacket underneath to keep me warm.
Once again LL Bean's clothing beats out the competition.

Good rain jacket
This is a good rain jacket. It's lightweight. I've only had one chance to wear it but it repelled water efficiently. It has a lot of pockets. I expect that it will last a long time.

Great Rain Jacket
I needed a lightweight jacket that repels water while remaining cool inside. I live in WA State where it rains often, and find past jackets were not breathable. I am 6'2 and 250 lbs and the 2x Tall fits perfectly. I have room under it for my midweight jacket if it's cold outside. I recommend this rain jacket, it is quality made at a bargin price.

Great for the price, but not for all conditions!
This is a decent jacket for the price, and depending on how you intend to use it, ranges from a 3 to a 5. For everyday use in damp or rainy conditions, this is well worth it and I would give it a 5. If you intend to use it in extremely wet conditions, you may want to consider a Gore-tex shell or higher end jacket. I often use it on a daily basis in and around Anchorage or when out for day hikes and it is perfect, but in extreme conditions there might be better options. I've used it hiking in torrential rains and while pack rafting and don't recommend it for those conditions. In particular, I find the hood to be problematic and the fabric can get saturated.

Not a rain coat.
I bought this as a true rain coat, but found that rain penetrated the outer fabric after 20 minutes of being in a rain situation.

Send in the rain!
Kept me dry in the downpour! I like that the hood extends a bit in front so it kept my glasses dry, too, without needing a separate cap!

Nice light weight rain jacket but kind of short
I bought the XL Tall. It's a nice light weight rain jacket. But the sleeves are not very long for a tall size. I'm 6'5" and they are fine if I'm just standing still with my arms at my sides but if I'm moving around or if I reach for anything, like my handle bars on my bicycle, they ride up a lot.

We were SOAKED
I bought matching jackets for me and my husband to take to Europe. It rained on one of the days and these jackets were not waterproof at all. We were both soaked through, especially on our shoulders. There was a tiny bit of water resistance at first but these were definitely not rain jackets and I was embarrassed.

Even the dog likes it!
I choose this in a men’s small for my niece as there was no equivalent ( length, color choice) in women’s. She loves it, says “it is now fun to walk the dog on inclement days! “
