Great upland boots
I bought these boots kinda on a whim while visiting the main LL Bean location in Freeport and so glad I did. They are super comfortable right out of the box, kept my feet warm and dry during my SD pheasant hunt this year, and able to be resoled when they wear down. Perfection.

Great boots
Two bird hunts over two days; hiking a mountain for grouse on day one and hunting pheasants in farm fields on day two. These boots didn’t need any breaking in at all and were like walking in a pair that I had walked miles in right out of the box. Wish I had bought them sooner.

I'm going to like these a long time
Exactly the boots I was looking for to replace my 35-year-old Red Wings. It feels like these will work just as long and hard. Warm and comfortable. Great construction. And they even look good. One thing: Although I'm sure I'll learn to appreciate them, I'm still getting used to the lacing hooks.

Leaking after two years of moderate use
I really liked these boots at first. They're a little heavy, but the tread has excellent traction and that was important to me.
Unfortuately both boots are leaking after two years of moderate (at most) use.
Highly disappointed.
The quality of L.L. Bean products has really gone south in recent years. They seem to be much more focused on selling cheap importated apparel at high margins rather than quality outdoors products.

Men's Kangaroo Boots
I have purchased several pairs of these boots and found them to be very comfortable and long wearing. I did have one pair that developed a noisy squeak and I returned those for a new pair.
Here are the plusses and minuses: The soles are very aggressive and hold mud. I'm a construction superintendent and in and out of my field office all day and tracking in mud becomes an issue For me, less aggressive soles would work better. The speed laces are great and putting on a pair is quick.

Kangaroo Leather boots
Light and comfortable but still have pretty good support and traction. However, I have not worn them enough yet to know how well they will last. I plan to wear these only in the early (bare ground) part of deer season. I do a lot of still hunting in both the Green Mountains where I live VT and in the Adirondacks where my camp is. It is tough to find any boots that last well with hard use these days.

Mixed Feelings
I have about 40-50 miles on these boots (new in Feb-March 2023) spring turkey hunting in West Virginia. They seem to be well-made out of good quality materials. However, they seem to run about a full size larger than tag size and are also pretty wide, somewhat uncomfortably so, for a Medium D boot. Additionally, there is little arch and ankle support and the shank is pretty flexible, so probably not a good choice if you plan to hunt a lot of uneven or rocky terrain. Upside- the Vibram outsole does get very good traction on nearly every surface in the woods. Downside- the waterproofing is waterproofing in name only, apparently. My basically brand new boots were soaked all the way through in minutes after walking through some dew-soaked grass. I want to like them more, but there are just too many downsides for most hunting applications. They would probably make a good stalking or tree stand boot for early season if you do not plan to hunt in inclement weather, on very uneven or rocky terrain, or with a heavy pack. You may want to order a half to full size smaller than you typically would with other boots.

Value no longer there
Soles wear out too fast, no more lifetime warranty means these boots are a pass for me. Too much money for a boot that won’t last. Bean quality not what it used to be.

Amazing boots
Love this boot! Minimal break in, comfy, warm. But make sure to take it off when pass airport security as the metal lace hooks will trigger the alarm, personal experience….

Men’s Warm Hunter Boots!
I just purchased these boots for Winter wear and they are very warm, waterproof and very comfortable! I also bought them with the extra insulation and they are fantastic! No break in required they are very comfortable and very easy to walk in as they have excellent traction and support as well! I highly recommend these beautiful boots to anyone looking for a good quality well made boot! They are worth every penny that I paid for them and I see them lasting me for many years as they are rugged and durable as well! I am very satisfied with my purchase! And they look great on me also!

I bought these for my husband and he loves them. They felt good from the first day he wore them. He had a wide foot so I bought the wide which was perfect for him.

sole separates from the leather where stitched
Have two pair and both pairs have separated where the leather is stitched to the rubber sole. I do not recommend these boots for the price paid and poor quality of workmanship

Not happy.
Only worn 4 times. Today after hiking about 3 hours Both boots were soaked right through no rain or frost today only dew in the fields? Regret purchase. Buyer beware. Hopefully I can treat them and resolve. They are comfortable, good traction and weight.

Lining quality
Bought these a few years ago. They have been on 4 hunt, about 15 days of wearing them. Noticed some wear on the liner by the heal. Put them on today and the liner ripped straight down. They were great the first three trips i wore them.

Very Comfortable Boot
This boot is very well made and very beautiful, ready for this Fall and Winter! They seem to be nice and warm and even though I have worn them only once, they feel so comfortable that they do not need a break in period!

Plus and minus's
Good: Out of the box they are very comfortable. Seem to have decent arch support. Newer treed model has a lot more grip. They are very light overall.
Bad: The stitching around the toe area is junk. I basically ripped mine out in less then 4 months on both sets while hunting in briars. Also they are also not waterproof after a year. I have two sets of boots and use a Peet boot dryer after every hunt to dry them out and yes, I do put Snow Seal and other products on them all the time. They leak around the seams of the sole. I still use them because they are comfortable and very light. I have reoccuring Platar Facia and I can wear these boots with no problem.

Heel wore out in a year
Poor quality. Fine out if the box but the leather faded fast and the inner lining quickly wore out. Soles are in great condition. Outside of a year no warranty, no repairs. The new LL Bean is landfill ready quality.

New and improved
I really like the new sole. The old one needed more traction, so this is a big plus. I’m less thrilled with the increased height, as I thought the old ones were just right.

Second Pair
I have a pair of these exact boots I bought in the mid-1990s that I wore extensively in Finland and Russia. They still look great but the tread wore off the soles. They are very comfortable and well-made. I'm thrilled to be able to buy a new pair.

Kangaroo Upland insulated hunting boot.
Comfortable and rugged boot. Entry and exit a little difficult. Wish there was a better way to open and secure the multiple lace points.
