Product Details
The ultrawarm, Sherpa-lined Scotch Plaid flannel shirt. Our warmest lined shirt combines two favorites in one - legendary Scotch Plaid flannel and soft Sherpa fleece.
This incredibly comfortable layer combines two favorites - flannel and fleece. We started with our premium Portuguese flannel, known for its warmth, softness and long-lasting color. Then we added a layer of textured Sherpa fleece to make it toasty warm and unbeatably cozy.
- Portuguese flannel is 100% cotton; sherpa lining is 100% polyester.
- Flannel is expertly brushed for softness and yarn-dyed for long-lasting color.
- Garment washed for over 20 minutes for an extra-soft feel.
- Machine wash and dry.
- Snap front placket.
- Taffeta-lined sleeves for easy layering.
- Midweight 5.5 oz flannel.
- Two front pockets with snaps.
- Side pockets with soft lining.

It's a jacket, not a shirt
My wife bought the women's version of this and loves it for wearing around the house as a "cozy" layer, so she bought the men's version for me. Unfortunately, the men's version is labeled as a shirt but it's really a jacket, so it's far less comfortable and not suitable for what we were hoping. Here's how they compare:
Women's:
- Standard fit
- Button closures
- Soft, cotton-lined sleeves
Men's:
- Oversized fit (like you'd wear over a couple layers)
- Snap closures
- Course, taffeta-lined sleeves

Not the Bean quality I remember
I bought this shirt about a year go and I do wear it regularly when the temperature drops, however, it just didn't stand up to what I expected from LL Bean. This exact same thing happened with a Katahdin Iron Works hoodie. See attached photo.

Extremely warm, and way too big
I was hugely disappointed with this shirt. It's quite warm, which is nice. But it's the opposite of "slightly fitted." I bought a medium. I'm pretty much perfectly in the middle of the recommended size range, and the shoulders and arms fit. But this thing is way too bulky and baggy around the midsection, and the pockets (which can't be closed short of sewing them shut) make the thing even bulkier. I honestly can't understand how so many reviewers are calling this thing "true to size." I might not complain if I'd spend $30 on this at the local farm supply store. But it's not nearly worth the $110 I paid for it here.
On a positive note, it's super cozy, which has made it just good enough to not be worth the hassle of returning. But I still hardly ever wear it because it just fits like a sack.

Sleeves are not fleeced
The sleeves are not fleece lined, it’s a vest style lining of fleece.

Returned immediately.
Used, and with hairs from privious ownwer. Arrived in a plastic bag without tags, looked faded, and haggard.

Men’s Sherpa lined shirt
My husband finally wore out his hand me down LL Bean Sherpa lined shirt. A friend gave it to him 8 years ago, well used. When he started sewing patches on the elbows, I knew it was time for a new one.
