Best fit I’ve ever had!
I have quite the LL Bean outdoor line, since I work outside in the elements and am constantly layering and changing throughout the seasons. This vest is the one vest out of all my others that fits absolutely perfect underneath my jackets whether it be a raincoat, or a heavy winter coat. I am 5’ 3” and got the Petite length, and it still covers my bottom. I love the double ended zipper, so I don’t stretch the fabric will sitting down.

Feel confident making the purchase
I like the longer length and side stretch panels. Movement is not restricted in this vest. The zipper is not as tricky as many reviewers expressed. It works fine and LLBean provides a video tutorial online for 2-way zipper use if you run into issues. I wish the hood was removable. If you use the tightening pull cords on the hood it covers your eyes and blocks your vision. Not a deal breaker but a potential future design improvement. The pockets are large and placed in a good spot for comfortable use. It’s a little pricey but the only long vest with side stretch panels that I could find and LLBean has a good track record of standing begging the quality of their products. This is not the warmest vest but perfect for fall and mild NC winter days.

My new favorite
This is a very comfortable weight and length vest. It hits just below the hip and is not super thick. I like that it layers under a coat well but it casual and cute enough to wear on its own. The pocket are super deep and the hood, while it does not detach, lays very flat.

Light, and a nice layer under a puffy coat in cold temps, and great outer layer in warmer temps. Yes - the zipper is tricky. I put a bit of vaseline at the bottom connection and its a lot better. Patience helps too. I live in the Mountains, so interested to see how much I continue to wear it as we move to single digits.

Good coverage!!!
I really like most aspects of this vest. Warm, longer length and has a hood for when you need it! I do NOT like the zipper.At.All. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s a long vest and I’m only 5’1” or if it’s just a poorly designed zipper. It is very difficult for me to zip. I have taken to just leaving the bottom zippered and stepping into it. I can’t decide it I would recommend it or not based on the zipper…probably; as long as you know that it’s a difficult zipper.

Nice, not perfect
I love the style and look of this vest, but a friend has it in small, which was just a bit too tight, and the medium I ordered is about 2” too wide. I’m 5’7”, 138 lbs, with an athletic build -- usually a medium, but clothes are increasingly cut for a different kind of body, which is very frustrating for thin people.

Love it!
Love the vest. From Fl & temporarily in NC. Wearing it daily when gets cold outside or inside in NC. I know will get lots of use in FL too! Very comfortable & perfect amount of warmth. 5’8” & the length is great for me! Get lots of compliments. Looks great, on my daughter too. Plan to get her one, hopefully, for Christmas! Nice warmth - zipper not so great and sizing odd
I bought this over a year ago and love the warmth factor for being so minimally puffy. BUT the zipper is a pain and I find myself often reaching for another coat instead. Also the sizing is odd - I got an XL but the arm holes were too small so went up a size and now I'm swimming in it. It could be a great vest with some adjustments.

Love this vest!
I don't know how i got by in the past without this vest. It is the perfect weight for here in the PNW for fall transition and I'm sure for spring also. I can justify the excessive price by the comfort and amount of use in getting out of it. Fits great.

Great lightweight Vest
I really like this vest! I purchased black in size Small regular. I am 5' 1" 115 pounds and I love the length for leggings. Petite would have been too short to look good with leggings.It is slightly oversized but I wouldn't like it any tighter because I will want to wear it over sweaters and hoodies. I DO NOT have any issues with the zipper, you just have to line up the two zippers at the bottom before attaching. Easy peasy! It's nice to be able to zip it open from the bottom for sitting. Everyone needs to watch your video if they don't understand how the zipper works. Then they wouldn't get unnecessarily frustrated. I don't mind the stretchy side panels but I think I would like it better if it was the solid quilted fabric. I love it still though, it's so light and comfortable and has really nice deep pockets. And I also love the hood, thankfully it doesn't have that weird elastic around the face because I really don't like that.

Versatile Vest
This vest was an article of clothing that was most essential was we toured National Parks in Sept. It was perfect as the weather varied from a comfortable 70 degree day to a 50 degree day. It was easy to layer and I was extremely comfortable as I wore it with just one layer or multiple layers. It was lightweight so packing it was easy and easy to layer over it. And it looked especially nice with jeans or hiking pants.

Length Request
I initially ordered the Petite in Medium (I'm 4' 11") which turned out a tad shorter than I prefer. I returned it for a Regular Medium where the length was to my liking. I wrote to ask if the lengths could be included in the item's descriptions. The reply was yes. I'm guessing it'll take some time for it to come to fruition.

Awesome packability- fashionable and light
Got this at the LL Bean store that happened to have a small sale- worth the price tho- thin but sturdy, good for this weird summer of rainy cooler nights while camping. Can’t wait for fall to dress this up or dress it down- love packing it into the chest inner pocket, takes hardly any room in my pack. Two thumbs up

My new FAVE
I love the fit, weightlessness, and comfiness of this vest. I wear it in all seasons when there is a chill. The flexible side panels create a comfortable and fitted silhouette. And the hood comes in handy if the wind or some precipitation kick up. I hope LLBean keeps this vest as I'm almost tempted to buy another one to 'save' for the future when my current fave is worn out. I typically buy S or XS depending on the garment's description and reviewers comments; I purchased this in XS.
