Great kids winter jacket

Try another model
Not a great coat. Leaks down more than any other down coat we have, or owned previously. Fabric on this coat seems different than any of the 30 or so coats we have purchased from LLB over the years, and I do not mean better. Try a different model.

One winter of light use
My daughter zipper broke on her coat. Like, broke completely in half. L.L. Bean requires us to send the coat in hopes that they “deem it” faulty (or something of that nature). Seemed like a nice coat, but disappointed in the zipper, and more disappointed in the customer service.

Cute coat
I bought this for those cold days that the kids want to play in the snow, but I wouldn't recommend this for actually playing outside In a Canadian snowy winter. It's great for walking or warmth, but it get really wet and fast. The cuffs under neath are usually handy for keeping snow from getting up the arms, but this coat is meant for the city.

Neither Warm nor Waterproof
Last winter, I bought my son this down coat, which was supposed to be very warm. It is NEITHER WARM NOR WATERPROOF. I still had confidence in the quality of LLBean's coats back then, so I bought the more-waterproof kids 3-way coat for him, but that also is not warm. He has to wear that 3-way coat ON TOP OF this down coat in order to be relatively warm and dry. Add it up, and that is about $400 of coats needed to create a single functional coat for a child who will outgrow them in no time. I no longer have confidence in LLBean coats, so I want to make shoppers aware of the problems with them in hopes of keeping others from throwing good money after bad.

Snug and warm
I bought a size 14-16 for my 10 year old and seems pretty fitted, not a lot of space for growth. I think it is running a tad small. It's warm and the colors are nice, although I was hoping the coat was blue and white not blue and gray. It's a very nice coat nonetheless.

Beautiful, warm coat
My son wore this exact coat in a smaller size for years, and now that he has finally outgrown the old one, he wouldn’t even consider looking at a different coat. He loves this coat in winter- it’s great in snow and harsh wind, and it’s soft and cozy to wear. It slips easily over other layers, washes well, and it’s the only piece of outerwear he actually volunteers to wear. The colors are bright and vibrant. Beautiful, high quality coat that lasts. Worth every penny.

The jacket itself is fine for my rambunctious 10 year old but the zipper on the hood is extremely cheap and the hood does not stay attached (zipper broke within 1 month of use). Very disappointed in this purchase.

Great jacket.
Very well made. Bought an 8/9 for our 8 year old and there is plenty of room for it to last through next winter. Our kiddo is somewhat slim and avg/tall. Washed well and is super cozy. We put tennis balls in the dryer with it to keep it puffy.
