Works well as a base layer
Works pretty much how you would expect a base-layer to work. A very nice feature is a thumb-hole in the sleeves at the wrist, which means you can put on the next layer without having the base-layer sleeves getting pushed up your arms. I do recommend washing in cold water on the "delicate" cycle per the instructions, and then hanging to dry for at least the first couple of washings. After that, you should be able to throw them in the dryer after washing without too much shrinkage. Overall, a very good product!!

bring back the old ones
Purchased two shirts in spring in size medium. Both were to tight, material was thinner and cheaper than the ones in the past. The older ones I have are five years old and are still going strong. I will not order these again.

Terrific Lightweight Base Layer
I now have three of these lightweight, versatile shirts that I wear in 32 to 50 degree temperatures when I'm mountain biking. This lightweight base layer wicks away perspiration so you stay warm and dry. Usually I'll wear a thin biking jersey on top of the base layer and maybe a light windbreaker if it's breezy. If it gets below 32 degrees I'll wear a mid-weight base layer. Single digits demand an expedition weight base layer - all from LL Bean. One last point. I find these shirts attractive enough to wear when I'm not biking.
