Ripstop pants
I Purchased 3 pairs of pants to replace older pairs. I ordered the new river rock color and love this color. I ordered the petite and at 5 feet 2 inches, I need to have them shorten.
I these pants are very comfortable.
The side leg pocket is great. For airline travel
And walks, I drop a small wallet in for easy access to my credit card, ID and a few dollars, then snap it closed.

Love the comfort!
I bought a pair of the ripstop shorts this past summer and I loved the fit and comfort of the shorts. I decided to try the pants and I have been nothing but happy with my purchased. The pants are comfortable, wash well and do not need ironing. I'm a bit short so I roll up the pant legs a bit so that they are the correct length. I would recommend purchasing these pants.

Cotton fabric
Even though the fabric is called rip-stop, it is mostly cotton. Fabric shrunk and is stiff, so pants are too short and are not flattering around waist.

You can wear everywhere and be comfortable. A soft giving waist is a plus and the tie cord certainly adds to the look. The quality of pant material holds up for the really active and there is a bit of noise the pants do make. It is a bit snug around the calves yet it could be MY caves ! But my biggest gripe are the shallow pockets ( tho many/most women’s pants come with shallow pockets ) everything sticks above the edge. LLBean could make a grateful addition in that area. Would love to know why tho ? They are a bit pricey ~ it’s awesome if you can’t catch a discount.

Lacks Quality Control
Have been an LLBean customer for many years. I've also purchased this style pant a LOT during those years. I've noticed so many inconsistencies, though. Some are tighter, or looser or different lengths. I was able to make them "work," though. This last pair was washed and worn once. The metal LL Bean snap on the back pocket fell off. Not cool. For the amount of money we pay for these clothing items, much is expected. I'm beginning to think I need to find a new place to shop.

Ripstop pants
Purchased them in a light tan color. Fit is fine. Quality is fine. The biggest drawback is how they look after washing. Great for camping, yard work, or a lazy day at home. Definitely not suitable to wear out and about without steaming or light ironing.

I love the pants, but I had a hard time finding the right fit. I sent back several pair before I got the magic number. One said it was a petite, but it was the same length as the regular. I have two pair and would buy them again.

Something Changed!
I love these pants so much that I have 3 different colors and ordered two more in gray and navy. The gray ones just came and I was surprised and very disappointed that the fit has changed from the other 3 pairs I have been wearing for months. The gray ones fit like the old hip huggers from the 70's with an inseam of just over 9 inches. They have been returned. The other pairs all sit at my waist and have an inseam of 10 1/2 inches! I sent the gray ones back and am hoping that this change doesn't affect the ones I have on backorder in navy. All 4 pairs are Medium Petite. I looked everywhere in the specs and description for any mention of inseam. Nothing was available for a choice in inseam, just in total pant length. Not too happy!

Good points and bad points
For me, as I am short-waisted, long legged, apple-ish shaped and narrow hipped, the fit of the large, medium tall works well. I actually love the fit and comfort of these pants. They're just not very durable (admittedly, I wear them to work as a veterinarian and crawl around on the floor a lot.) And, they stain very easily. I mean, every fabric stains, but these show stains remarkably and the stains don't wash out easily. I'm 57, I've been doing laundry (and been a slob, lol) for many decades, so it's not my laundry abilities. I just hate paying this much for pants that only last one or two winter seasons. I keep buying them, though, because they're so comfortable.

Love These Pants!
Wasn't sure if the petite or the regular fit was ideal for me because I was on the cusp of the size chart at 5'3 3/4". I went with the petite, which was a hair too short but fit my 4'11" Mother perfectly. I liked the pants so much, I ordered another pair in regular XS which are just the right length. Comfortable, great color, love the side pockets ( they don't stick out creating a weird silhouette as some pants do). Great weight and fabric for travel too.
