Solid classic
Good fleece vest. I'm usually between a medium and large and probably should have gone down rather than up but the fit is still fine if roomy. Single layer fleece with no frills, I like the dark grey color I got.

High quality XXLT vest for winter
I love vests and own a couple of well used fleece vests. I want a vest that zips up the front, has fleece but not too thick, and good quality cloth, and build. I use the vest as part of my layering during the winter for long walks and bicycle rides. I use a thin windbreaker over the layers and find that for our winters in the Sacramento region rarely do I need more than a long sleeved shirt to keep my arms warm under the vest and windbreaker. Very easy to tailor the needed insulation while using these types of vests.

My all time favorite
I have had several of this model vest in past and like them all. After several years of regular use, the zipper often quits. I have had some replaced, which usually costs more than replacing the entire vest. If you can find someone to replace a zipper, can be a challenge.

Nice vest but missing one important thing…
I bought this for my husband who has a very old Bean fleece vest that has seen many miles. While he thought this new one was well-made & attractive, it no longer has the top-zip pocket like his old one. That was a deal breaker so he sent it back. If it would’ve had the pocket on top he would’ve kept it.

Bean's Best Bargain!
Every year when you come out with new colors, I buy my husband another vest. These are the best! They are perfect year-round, the colors match the plaids perfectly, they don't pill. and they wash and dry beautifully. We do wish that you would offer a deep burgundy, a medium taupe brown, and a medium sage green. Also, soft heathered shades would be huge sellers. Everywhere we go in Maine,
men are wearing the uniform; LL.Bean plaid shirts under Classic Fleece Vests. Keep new colors coming!

Reduced # of pockets is disappointing
Disappointed would be how I review this vest. The last vest lasted many years and was perfect for active cold weather wear. The difference in the replacement no side pocket on the left chest for cell phone, no inside pockets for sunglasses gloves headband etc. The thickness is 20% less which is OK but the lack of pockets other than the 2 outside ones really make a difference when you are going in & out or just active.

Needs more pockets
We ordered this vest to replace an old LLBean fleece vest. Nice quality, nice cut, but we sent it back, because it only had two outside hand pockets. The old version had a zippered breast pocket and two open inside pockets as well. Need those pockets for outerwear on the street and for hiking.
