Not same fit as before
Can’t give it 5 stars because the crotch area is shorter than my previous pairs; yet the waist is perfect. So, somewhat uncomfortable to wear; whereas before these were my “go to” summer wear. Am disappointed.

Not right for me.
I ordered these and tried them but they hit just below the knee on me and when I walked they bothered me so I returned them. They were nice shorts and if you like longer shorts they would be a good choice.

GOOD SHORTS BUT NO ZIPPERED POCKETS
Well crafted and good fit useful for hiking casual wear and water play. However NONE
of the otherwise well designed pockets can be securely closed with a zipper - active users risk loosing cash, keys, cards and other valuables. Add a zipper - or two- and raise the price a bit for the best practical comfortable shorts on the market.

Too bad they changed the colors
I’ve been wearing these shorts on the boat for years as they double with swim trunks have good pockets and are indestructible as well as comfortable. But they used to be a brick red like fancy sailors pants but now they are orangey.

Nice but long
These are great shorts but 10” is too long. I have bought 8” nylon cargo shorts for years. Unfortunately I guess you discontinued them that’s why I tried these. They are too long to work in. Now I sadly have to find them elsewhere

Good shorts concept, needs some work.
I love the concept behind these shorts. My main issues are that I found them to be too tight around the thighs when I squat or sit, and too loose at the waist even when well-tied.
I think these shorts would be better served having a nylon clip belt like their old river shorts as opposed to a tie string on the inside.

These are the best
These sorts are so comfortable, versatile and reasonably durable. They fit right, dry fairly quickly and are very lightweight, so perfect for the tropical climate where I live. The cargo pockets are a must for me. Yes, I konw, some do not like the style, but I am EVER grateful that LL Bean continues to sell exactly these shorts. The cargo pockets are what make them so versatile. I can wear them to the beach, to the gym and, since they feature a nice quality fabric, in public without feeling like I'm slumming around in gym shorts. Great product, please continue to keep in stock!

Great but color faded
Great swim shorts, but color bleached out significantly with just one day in a swimming pool. Still look okay, they just started out as a royal blue and became a light sky blue. Hopefully the fabric is still perfectly strong. Otherwise, comfortable shorts, good pockets.

Loved them at first.
Loved them at first as they fit great. The problem is the elastic band over time becomes nonfunctional. After a while the string is the only thing preventing them from falling down.

Nice shorts but waist band not firm
I bought three of these shorts. They are very comfy. I use them for mild exercise as well as for day-to-day activities. One thing I found, however, is that these shorts are a bit too roomy. I am a size large, but I had to exchange them for a medium. Which I think is OK. However, the elastic band did not feel like any of the previous LL Bean supplied shorts I have owned. They are not firm enough. So, you have to tie the draw string to keep the shorts from falling down.

This is my 2nd pair, and the first pair is still going but looking worn after 10 years…yup 10 years! The old pair turned into an everyday wear when not in the washer.
These shorts are just like an old glove…you can’t toss them and they just fit! Buy them!
