In 1936 when Leon Leonwood Bean first introduced these shoes, he compared them to the unique comfort of a handmade Native American moccasin. That soft, custom-made feel is still apparent in each shoe sewn today.

What’s up with the laces ?
They shoes are well made and fit well, but the laces are way too long for these shoes. I will have to buy new laces or shorten these before being able to wear them. Disappointing to have to find and buy laces for brand new shoes

Wide option is awesome / broke in fast.
Wide option is great. I'm not sure if it's a wide last / sole, or just built with a bit more room in the leather upper. They felt a little snug when I tried them on the first time, but broke in very quickly. I've worn them for a few hours one day, and then for half a day another day, and they are now very comfy and I don't notice any constriction in my forefoot. I think with a little snow seal or other leather conditioner, they'll be really dialed.

Right out of the Box!
I needed a pair of shoes for work and have had great experiences with LLBean in the past. So I ordered these Mocs on line with the hope they'd fit and feel comfortable right out of the box. I was not diappointed. Without time to break them in I wore them for over 16 hrs without a problem. High recommend!

Hmmm.
Nice shoes. Definitely leather as they smell fantastic. Construction seems solid. My only gripes would be where are the shoe inserts? Where is the arch support? The front half of your foot rests on leather. Nice I guess. You get half an insert and it’s not great at that. I like an insert and I buy inserts usually anyway, but it struck me as odd. No branding anywhere except for the “LL BEAN” logo on the sole. Again not a biggie just something I noticed. Made in El Salvador but I knew this going in. The days of made in Maine are long gone unfortunately. Fit like a size 10 my usual size and the laces are nice and easy to tie.

I have been wearing various versions of L.L. Bean mocs for the past 50 years. This version has vastly superior arch supports compared to 50 years ago, and the appearance is now business casual. I do find this version is slightly more narrow than my other mocs.

Great Casual Shoe
It's a great shoe for knocking around or for the office. It's not a high mileage walking shoe. A good, nicer looking alternative to sneakers. In my case, I found my full-foot orthotics fit perfectly without any discomfort. If you're on the fence between getting the regulars or the wide widths, i would recommend the wide. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase.
