Not really what I wanted.
I bought thiis to replace a very old anorak of another brand. That jacket was very light, did not have a hood, but did have a drawstring at the neck and velcro adjustments at the cuffs. Thus, one could adjust the ventilation to suit the temperature. This jacket has neither of those.
What it does have is a hood. So when it rains, you have to put it up or it gets full of water. And then you lose most peripheral vision. And you have to wad up your hat and stuff it in the pocket. Plus, if ithe hood is down and there's any wind from behind, if flops up and hits you in the back of the head.
From the featured picture of this Mountain Classic, it isn't at all obvious that it does have a hood - a popular, but in my opinion, nearly useless appendage. It's my fault that I didn't examine the other picutures before ordering.
But it's Bean's fault that they designed it with a clingy fabric that is very difficult to get on and off over any sort of soft finish shirt, the Bean's chamoise shirt for example.
I'll keep it, but I'm not really pleased with the product.

Thinking ahead for winter outings
Sized right! Made this purchase to round out my cross country ski outfit. Layers and Swedish army wool pants. Surplus store for the pants. LL Bean should look into the design. Very happy. Now let it snow!

Almost perfect
The only thing I don’t like about this is how overly large the hood is. Otherwise, it’s great. Very comfortable and keeps you dry

Classic old bean anorak
Although lighter feel to material compared to stiffer ones back in the day, still the old anorak. Usually a 2x but got 3x to wear something a little bulky underneath. Good buy.

Useless as a windbreaker/water barrier
If you're looking for something even remotely water resistant, this is NOT it. Liquid immediately soaks into the fabric, rather than beading up and rolling off. Barely wind resistant, too. The leather pull tabs seem artificial based on the sheen/plastic-like feel, though can't confirm. After one gentle washing the fabric started pilling. Profoundly unimpressed with this garment and I didn't even personally buy it, was given it through work with an embroidered patch/logo (which has begun to come partially undone on the front side.) Cannot believe LL Bean is selling this for $60. Could buy any lesser name brand and get a more functional, affordable product with likely a greater lifespan, too.

Perfect choice for a good coat for bad weather
Nicely made and perfect choice for my trip plans. I wanted a lightweight raincoat for my trip to Switzerland in case of bad weather it was perfect. Good fit, zip pockets for security and didn’t take up much room in my backpack

new anorak
We bought this to replace my husband's 30-year-old LLB anorak that was so old the elastic was shot. Got the dark navy and he loves it, as it fits much better than the old version which was way oversized. It stores into its own zippered pocket, is water and wind resisten, and great for travel. We keep one in the car for each of us.

Comfortable and warm windbreaker.
I bought the quilted-insulated version of this two years ago. I use it spring, winter and fall. In the spring and winter, I use it without layers as a windbreaker and rain jacket. In the winter, I use it over layers and it protects me from windchill. I find the zippered pocket useful and convenient. I loved this anorak so much I opted to buy this one for my son. It is exactly like my garment without the insulation. He loves it but I feel fortunate that I bought the insulated version when it was available,

Excellent and Functional Within its Limits
I have worn this anorak for several years. It’s a plain, uncoated nylon shell, regular to loose fit. I bought it a size larger than my normal size to leave room for layering. It does a very nice job stopping wind. It will repel a light drizzle, but it’s not a raincoat and will wet out in a steady rain in 30-60 minutes.
The hood pulls tight around the edge but will tend to fall over your face unless you wear a ballcap, something with a brim. It has a pull cord at the hem. Shell material is fairly durable - more so than some thinner, more expensive shells i sometimes wear.

Guys, This is a "need" in your closet!
It was a gift for son in-law. He loved it! Available in tall sizes. Plans to use it over just a tee shirt or whatever the situation calls for. Great for layering for fishing, bumming on the week-ends, even dinner at a casual restaurant and that's about all we have around here.
