The navy peacoat not the dark navy from the past- use to be a midnight navy. Sent back exchanged for the black And it looks more like dark charcoal. Not happy with new colors.

A Quality Made Peacoat
I waited over a decade before picking up the L.L Bean Peacoat and now I wonder why I had hesitated on making the purchase. This is a great buy and I do not regret spending my money on it. The coat feels comfortably heavy and made of high quality wool. I like the fact that a black color option is now available for this peacoat as there had only been a blue version of it for many years.

Black Pea Coat XL
I love my LL Bean Pea coat. It's a little thinner, and not as dark as I think "Black" should be, but I think it will look good with my black shoes and blue jeans. The buttons are not sewn on as tight as I would like it. I compared this with my Schott NY pea coat. LL Bean Pea coat is not as thick, or as dark as my navy blue Schott NY pea coat. Plus, there are 6 front buttons on the front with LL Bean, and Schott NY has 8. I still think it's a keeper.

Excellent with long-term use.
I received my peacoat new nearly fifteen years ago and have worn it every winter since. Living in East Texas, our winters get down into the 30s in terms of temperature, but average more into the 50s. The problem is the rain. Wet, cool winters are no match for this coat, though. The best part of winter is breaking out this coat because I know I'll be warm, comfortable, and fashionable. The worst part of spring is packing it up again. There is some light wear on the elbows, which has caused the dark navy to fade to a lighter blue, and some of the buttons are not as securely attached as they would otherwise be, but overall, a great coat.

This would be a GREAT coat, except...
The pockets are too small (remember Bean, we need room for a hat and gloves) and I am having to sew EVERY button back on because they are all coming off. Very, very frustrating. Only had this a few months.

Wonderful coat!
This is a wonderful coat. It is 100% wool and very soft. The buttons have anchors on them, which I like, and the coat can button from either side. I had wanted this coat for quite a while. Sadly, the one I ordered was just too big for me and had to be returned to LL Bean. Maybe next year I can get one in the perfect size for me...

Wool Pea Coat
Absolutely amazing! Now that I am in the professional area of my career, I tend to wear more business attire underneath and this peacoat manages to go over my wardrobe perfectly. Keeps me warm in this bitter cold weather, makes my wardrobe upped a level and goes with everything I have in my closet from business professional, to low key & casual. I would absolutely recommend to anyone who is considering a warm coat for the winter.

Nice coat, runs large by a size and a half
This coat seems good quality and it's very comfortable, but it is very large. I'm a 42" chest, which is the bottom of their Large size, but a medium was too large for me. LL Bean says it's for layering, but if you don't live in the upper northeast, even a size down will be fine for a sweater/hoodie underneath. If you're on the lower bounds of a size and don't plan on layering, you might be able to go down two sizes.

nice coat but ordered black it was too big so I asked for an exchange for the navy in a small which shows is available. Coat isn't here yet, and in checking I see it's on backorder until July of 2025. It's a really nice coat and had hoped to have it for my husband to use by now in winter.

Get Yourself One, You Will Not Regret It!
I am 5’2, so finding a decent 100% wool peacoat is as tough as it gets. This checks off MOST criteria on my list as it is a nice coat all men should wear when the weather gets cold. Unfortunately, it is no longer made in the USA. One could pay regular MSRP on the website, but fortunately, I live near the outlets. Every so often, I swing by and check if there are any returns or exchanges. The outlets hardly carry those size S, so I struck gold when I found this in the rack. I took it to my tailor, and she shortened the sleeves.

Very well made. I really like the extra dark navy blue color. The inside chest pocket/cellphone pocket is roomy enough for a thin wallet and large smart phone. Lining makes it easy to put it on and off. Will last me for years of use in N.D..

A Fantastic LL Bean Black Pea Coat
