Made from premium stretch denim, with state-of-the-art S GENE® technology, the breakthrough fabric "remembers" its shape for superior retention. While the average recovery of other stretch denim is around 70% (leaving plenty of room for bagging and sagging), True Shape recovers 93% of its original shape (ensuring a great fit all day, every day). These jeans will follow your every move and look just as good at the end of the day as they did when you first put them on.

Size discrepancy between colors.
I'm rather disappointed with these jeans. I bought one pair that fit well and looked great, so I bought 2 more pair in different colors. Each fit differently, with one at least a size too small, and the other much tighter in the waist and thighs. Come on, LL Bean, you can do better!

Jeans- Not made like they used to be, unfortunate.
I’ve bought these jeans before like when they I think came out. This time I noticed the material is thinner, and they shot up the price $5.00 more. I do like the way they fit.
They must have changed manufacturers that make them because I’m highly disappointed.
The quality isn’t there like it used to be which disappoints because LL Bean I always felt made quality clothing.

chemical/rubber smell even after multiple washes
When I tried these on I was amazed by their perfect fit. I ordered 4/petite. They fit and look amazing, but when I wear them I'm aware of a rubbery/chemical smell all day. Even on the 3rd wash they still smell this way. Sadly I would be reluctant to buy any other pairs of jeans considering this factor.

Fit is perfect except for length
I love the fit of these jeans from waist to knees - I have a curvy figure and these hug in all the right places. However they are too short by an inch or two (slight variation between the two colors I have). They work great with short boots and sandals or flats without socks, but are not comfortable with sneakers or hiking shoes which is what I usually wear. (Medium tall is a good length but those are cut for a longer torso and ride too high in the waist for me.)

Disappointed-
Design decisions have made these jeans less wearable than others I've bought in the recent decades. Comfort waist was discontinued for Women's sizes more than a decade ago. These jeans add (1) shortened pockets; (2) too few belt loops--waistband sags below belt; (3) useless watch pocket--try to get anything useful into it. No repeat purchase.

Proportions wrong
Designed for someone who is big around the middle with skinny legs. The proportions were just wrong for me, and the waistband is made so heavily that the alteration I could normally do was not possible. The fabric looked nice, but I couldn't wear these so just returned them.

Waist size consistency, please.
I bought two pair of these jeans and the waist measurements were different. One pair fit snugly and the other pair was not comfortable. I returned that pair. I have several pairs of LL Bean jeans. All jeans are the same size, but the waist measurements differ. I probably would have bought the slim leg instead of the straight leg, but the tags in the jeans I already have do not reflect what the leg is - slim, skinny, straight, boot-cut, etc. It would be helpful if the tags gave you some kind of indication as to the leg type. It would also be helpful if the website indicated the leg opening width. Only the skinny jeans have one on your website. To me, this is valuable information.

A big disappointment
I am so sad that my classic LLBean jeans no longer exist. This true shape replacement is clearly a cost reduction. It is much lighter in weight (less material/lower cost). The dot is a little snug but will give because the cotton will stretch. I am returning it.

I buy the True Shape jeans from LL Bean because they fit well, and I like the style. They have always had just enough stretch to be comfortable, but still feel like real denim. When I pulled my latest order out of the bag, they felt different enough that I checked to make sure I had not ordered the Bean-Flex style. This True Shape pair felt softer and had more stretch than my previous pairs. The previous pairs contained 93% cotton, 5% polyester, 2% spandex; the new pair contains 91% cotton, 7% polyester, 2% spandex. This was not stated in the catalog/online. Just be aware that they do not feel the same as previous material; they are a little softer, more clingy, and do not have quite as much of a denim feel to them. Will have to see if they keep their shape as well as the previous pairs which I really liked.

Sized very small.
I expected to love these jeans, since I own the same style in two other colors, which are still comfortable and sturdy. But these jeans are way too small, so that there is no chance of zipping them, never mind wearing them in comfort.
Therefore, sadly returning these.
