A new twist on a nautical tradition, our Irish fisherman cardigan sweater features a flattering shorter length and a more fitted style. In soft cotton yarns, with a beautiful open-stitch fair isle pattern.
The original fisherman's sweaters of the Aran Islands were knit with designs that told stories of a rich coastal heritage. From good luck to a plentiful catch, special sentiments were represented in each and every stitch. We've recreated these details in a fitted yet easygoing silhouette, beautifully detailed with a classic Fair Isle design.

Great quality and fit
I’ve been wanting this sweater for a couple months now and just received as an early birthday gift. I’m obsessed and can’t wait to wear it. It’s a perfect themed sweater for where we live in SC! it is 100% cotton, so I do expect it to shrink a little. I’m right under 5 foot and ordered the regular size instead of petite. I wanted a tad bit of a longer length. It is a heavier weight sweater as well and it is layer-able. Can were a thinner shirt or tank top under or even layer with a thinner flannel. It’s great quality and weaved to perfection. It is pricey, I believe it should be a bit cheaper. I wouldn’t say it’s worth $150, but it’s very nice and you get what you pay for. This is my first item from LL bean! I might splurge and purchase another sweater like this in a different design. I love the sweater!

Perfect summer to fall transitional sweater!
Saw this in store and had to get it! Such a sweet pattern, thick yet breathable. I tried both a small and medium. Bought the medium for a looser fit!

Gorgeous Anchor Sweater
I was a bit hesitant to spend the money on this high priced cardigan but I took a chance because it’s just so darn cute!! When I opened the package right away I realized why the sweater was at the price it was. The quality is obvious by looking at it. It’s very well made and just as cute in person!! When you put it on it’s thick but also soft and very comfy. I highly recommend going for it if you’re on the fence about spending the money like I was. You won’t have buyers remorse;-)

The Cutest Cardigan
Saw this cardigan on the Bean webpage and couldn't resist the fun pattern and classic style. Love the warmth and weight. It's the perfect length and feels super cozy. I receive compliments every single time I wear it and recently purchased one for my sister-in-law who saw mine and loved it. Can't wait to order the anchor pattern when it's back in stock!

Red Hiking Sweater
I purchased the bright red sweater in a size large for a loose fit. Sadly the sweater is not soft, feels like wax coated material. It is very heavy in weight but see through. It looks exactly like the picture and is constructed well. When it says 100 percent cotton, I expected a much softer feel.
